Stanford House is one of Nottingham’s finest Georgian Mansions in the heart of the city and was built with a wonderful grand entrance hall accessed via the main entrance of Castle Gate. The term Hot Desking is quoted by work place researchers as deriving from a term first coined by the US Navy - hot racking. This was the practice where the sailors on different shifts would share bunks. In the financial boom of the late 1980s when office rental costs and land prices in major financial centres went through the roof, the phrase - Hot Desking, became common place where workers shared desk space or terminals.   If you like Georgian Architecture and  Buildings then you'll absolutely LOVE Stanford House in Nottingham. Stanford House is a Georgian  Gem in the heart of Nottingham only 60 seconds stroll from Marks and Spencer’s and the Broadmarsh, Jamies Italian Nottingham, Paul Smith and Carluccio’s are also near by. It has recently undergone a sensitive restoration with the original aim of becoming the Harrods of Nottingham.
